VolumePro ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use VolumePro.

Data Collection

VolumePro collects and stores the following data locally on your device only:

Stored Locally

  • Volume Settings: Per-site volume preferences you set
  • Audio Preferences: Bass/treble settings, presets, and voice focus settings
  • License Key: If you upgrade to PRO, your license key is stored locally
  • Subscription Status: Your subscription tier and status

What We DON'T Collect

  • ❌ Browsing history
  • ❌ Personal information
  • ❌ Audio content you listen to
  • ❌ Websites you visit
  • ❌ Any data sent to external servers (except license verification)

Permissions Explained

VolumePro requests the following permissions:

  • storage: To save your volume preferences locally
  • tabs: To identify which tab to apply volume controls to
  • activeTab: To access the currently active tab
  • scripting: To inject audio control scripts into web pages
  • host_permissions (<all_urls>): To control audio on any website you visit

License Verification

If you purchase VolumePro PRO:

  • Your license key is verified once with Lemon Squeezy (our payment processor)
  • Only the license key is sent - no personal information
  • Verification happens over HTTPS
  • License status is cached locally to minimize network requests

Third-Party Services

  • Lemon Squeezy: Used for payment processing and license verification only
  • We do not share any data with other third parties

Data Security

  • All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's secure storage API
  • We never transmit your browsing data or audio preferences to any server
  • License verification uses secure HTTPS connections

Your Rights

You can:

  • Delete all stored data by removing the extension
  • Clear site-specific settings at any time within the extension
  • Request information about data storage (contact below)

Children's Privacy

VolumePro does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The extension is designed for general audiences.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted with a new "Last Updated" date.
